Overview

Kyrgyzstan is the ultimate test of self-sufficiency. The Tian Shan mountains offer passes above 4,000m, river crossings with no bridges, and tracks that disappear entirely. Nomadic families will invite you into their yurts for fermented mare's milk and bread. There is no safety net — and that's exactly the point.

Passes above 4,000m. Nomadic hospitality in yurt camps. Zero tarmac for days on end. The world's most challenging and rewarding bikepacking terrain.
